All Episcopal services follow a set form of rites and ceremonies based on our Book of Common Prayer. Consequently, the liturgy does not change greatly from parish to parish. This sameness gives our worship a familiar feel, no matter which Episcopal church you attend, and also establishes a rhythm that can be comforting, especially in difficult times.
Worship is the center of our life at All Hallows. Some services are formal and feel quite ancient, while others are more relaxed and “come-as-you-are.” Our Sunday choral Eucharist offers hymns, chants, and a high standard of music from our choir and organist. All Hallows also provides daily Morning Prayer, monthly healing services, seasonal Choral Evensongs, monthly Compline services in the winter, and two festivals of Lessons and Carols. Pastoral services and rites of Reconciliation (Confession), Anointing of the Sick, Holy Eucharist for the homebound, funerals, Holy Matrimony, and Baptism are available by appointment with the Rector.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are gathering Monday through Saturday at 9:00 am for Morning Prayer via Zoom and celebrating Ante-Communion (the first half of Holy Eucharist) on Sundays, also at 9:00 am. These approximately half-hour services include hymns, psalms, lectionary readings, prayers, and a brief Bible study or homily from our Rector. The balance of the hour consists of a virtual “coffee social” with lots of conversation and fellowship. If you would like to join us, email Fr. Jeff at [email protected] Weather and virus permitting, we have also gathered for properly distanced outdoor services and will resume these when conditions improve.
