We provide food once a month to an average of 45 families, typically reaching 160 family members, of whom 60 are children under age 18. Distribution takes place at the Brick Church campus in the morning on the third Monday of each month. Food we distribute is mainly from the Anne Arundel County Food Bank (a combination of federal food and donated food from organizations and supermarket chains), with supplements purchased through parishioner donations. Parishioners and community volunteers pick up, bag, and distribute the food, and administer the program. During the COVID-19 pandemic, drive-through distribution keeps volunteers and patrons safe, and extended hours keep wait times and lines short.
HOLIDAY MEALS
We provide special holiday foods to our Food Pantry patrons for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. During the COVID-19 pandemic, for safety, we have been providing supermarket gift cards in lieu of holiday food items.
ANGEL TREE GIFTS
We provide Christmas presents for the children of food pantry patrons. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided gift cards for this purpose.
REPURPOSING MINISTRY
This ministry unclutters our closets, saves our landfills, and helps those in need with clothes, toys, children’s books, and small household items. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been holding an outdoors distribution of donated items to our food pantry patrons on distribution days as weather permits.
