We normally provide backpacks and school supplies in the early fall for low-income students who are identified and assigned to us by the Anne Arundel County Public Schools system. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the school system directly issued necessary school supplies to all students from pre-K through grade 5 as well as Chromebooks for all students, through high school, who needed them. At the request of the county, our support ministry shifted to collecting donations of money that the schools passed to families who registered with the Maryland Department of Social Services for purchase of distance-learning accessories for students from grade 6 through high school.
