Dr. Carl Schwartz, Director of Music
A church musician for more than 50 years, Carl Schwartz has served churches in the Washington, D.C., area, North Carolina, and Vermont, and has been Director of Music at All Hallows Parish South River since 2016. He is a graduate of Davidson College, and he earned the Master of Liturgical Music and Doctor of Music Arts degrees in Organ Performance from the Catholic University of America. Carl is a member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), the Organ Historical Society (OHS), and the Association of Anglican Musicians. He has been Dean of Potomac Chapter AGO, AGO District Convener, TriChapter Chair, and chair of the 2011 OHS National Convention in Washington, D.C. Carl is design and sales representative for Austin Organs, Inc., of Hartford, Connecticut, one of the oldest and most distinguished pipe organ builders in the USA. He and his wife Linda are both natives of the D.C. area. They have homes in Silver Spring, Maryland, and in Warren, Vermont, and are parents of two adult children.
